September was one hell of a month with less ups than downs. We launched SolydBot 1.0 and started a new chapter of our project. This will be a rather short post and probably more important to our current users.

Problems

With 1.0 we reworked the whole bot structure from the ground. With that we were expecting a big boost in performance, which technically is the case. When pushing a big update like this, we weren’t really able to test out properly at scale so we obviously had to iron out bugs and are still in the progress of doing that.

Site Changes

However, with our main site “Snipes” there are other problems than the new structure of the bot. We are still investigating the real problems behind the scenes. Further information might be communicated inside of the Discord server.

Time

At the moment, it’s safe to say we are very disappointed in our work that we put in a lot of time every single day. With a big update like that we had higher expectations than what we are currently providing to our users. Time is one of the big factors since it is kind of limited to us and we are already working 25/8, but our current state will be used as motivation to climb back up from where we came from, hard work pays off is what we follow and it always proved us right up until now.

Lack of communication

With the transition of 1.0 the real problems started to become important. Things like the website which needed to scale as expected, the backend behind the product template system, the implementations of the supported sites, the transition of the licenses such as managing the Discord users, deleting, upgrading licenses, and trying to fix bugs in general. The whole amount of work led to a lack of communication from us to the users which we are definitely trying to improve again.

We went through tons of logs and user tickets to find the root of the problems and tried our best to give you guys the best user experience possible. The goal is to accomplish a state where the bot structure works independently and we can move on with improving the site implementations / modules as before.

Success

Our success was really not that big this month. With around 140 checkouts for the Air Jordan 1 Mid Oakland GS our new product showcase function came in very handy. These small checkouts probably were not that important for most of the users, but they proved our functionality which was a good sign for us.

We are working very hard to get our success back to where it was just 1 or 2 months ago and even beyond that. :)

The next month will be used for getting the sites back on track and directly fixing user issues. Thank you again for reading and we hope we will see you in the next post!
