NEW YORK— As the House Committee on the January 6th Capitol Insurrection shares its findings with the American people, an unlikely dark horse has stormed another sacred space. Fox News, in front of a packed Radio City Music Hall, has taken the coveted Best Satire/Comedy Website award at the inaugural Webbles Awards, beating out the likes of Comedy Central, The Onion, and Reductress. The prize, according to Rupert Murdoch — commenting from the Imperial Palace on Coruscant — was “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. If one is to understand the great mystery of news, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic ethics of journalism schools.” A spokesperson from The Onion said that Fox News has been their stiffest competition for years and that it was clear that the site’s non-coverage of the January 6th hearings is what won them the award. “Covering Britney Spears, an arthritis study, and fraternity hazing during the hearing is genius, hilarious,” said The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, “with America hanging on the precipice of collapse, for Fox to NOT stream the Jan 6th hearings… well, it’s like watching Andy Kaufman; you don’t understand it, and you can’t help but laugh.”
