Navratri is around the corner and all devotees are celebrating it with great enthusiasm. Everyone is just going bling making fashion statements at Garba night, After all we start the preparation days before the festival begins.

The nine day festival also marks the beginning of fasting. This is one such festival where fasting and feasting goes hand in hand. On one hand the aroma of Prasadum fills up the space on the other you are fasting. So here I have come up with 5 easy to make Upvas recipes for Navratri which can are easy to make and less messy.

Sabudana Khichdi

You actually do not need an occasion to prepare this recipe. Don’t you agree? This is one of the most basic and in vogue dish consumed during fasts. Less spicy topped with peanuts and curry leaves just makes it appetizing. Everyone has their own way of serving it. I love it with curd on the side at some places people also make kokam saar or rasam.

Moriyo Khichdi

Moriya aka vrat ke chawal is another popular option prepared during fasting. It is light and filling at the same time. No need of too many ingredients just chopped potatoes, green chilies, curry leaves, and peanuts. And of course Moriyo. Moriyo khichdi can also be served along with kadhi sepcially prepared for fasting
