“The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man’s heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.”
That last sentence is truly fascinating.
Let me explain.
Those five words are enough for one person to find meaning in his life. For those who are not aware of Sisyphus, here’s everything you need to know about his story.
Who was Sisyphus?
Sisyphus was seen in Greek mythology and was known for outsmarting the ancient Greek gods.
In his first encounter with Death — Thanatos —Sisyphus tricked him into showing him how to use handcuffs and then used that knowledge to bind Death himself.
As seen very often in Greek mythology, the gods were not very happy with his audacity, and they decided to punish him.
Now, Sisyphus was given a really weird and never-ending punishment. He was sent to the Underworld to push a massive boulder up a steep hill.
