Right Book — Wrong Time
It’s more common than you think
Yesterday I had the monthly call with my good friend Peter.
People tend to lose touch with their friends because their life is “busy”. I decided to combat this issue by setting up monthly calls with all of my friends to catch up and not lose touch.
As Peter was telling me about his life, we decided to talk about the books we’re currently reading, and I immediately felt ashamed.
I felt ashamed because I have stopped reading books lately, even though I love doing it.
As I was expressing my lack of motivation, Peter said something very powerful that I think many of you need to read.
Right book, wrong time.
What did he mean by that?
Let me explain.
If you’re someone like me, you probably do what I usually do. Whenever I lay my eyes on a couple of books that I want to read, I take the extra step to buy them and put them in my library.
Now if you’re a carbon copy of me, which will be very creepy, you probably have opened said books, and read a few dozen pages.
But suddenly, you stopped reading.
