Let’s get straight to the point. Brothels and therapy have some amazing similarities.

They’re both artificial neutral environments where people go to share intimate moments to dissolve their egos.

Stop reading, and re-read that again slowly.

It’s true, and sex workers nowadays have a very difficult job and we should all acknowledge that.

Let’s dive deeper into how I reached this conclusion.

My friend and his story

I have a friend who’s been going to sexual workers for the past year, mostly because he’s not ready to engage sexually with women he meets.

He’s a good-looking guy, very funny, smart, and knows how to talk to people, but he’s scared of taking that extra step with the women he meets.

It fascinated me that he’s open to talking about it. He’s also open with the fact that he’s undergoing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with a trained psychiatrist.

As we were talking one day I asked him why he needed to keep having sex with sexual workers…
