Another year has gone,
and another soon will follow,
am I willing to uproot
these poisonous vines?
Or will I lay myself down
and drink from the stream
of bitterness and shame?

I am a bird with a mournful song,
I am autumn in the grave of winter,
I am the lowly vale bowing…
