Song of the Lark

Far Away And Nowhere

A Sonnet

If life were nothing more than a daydream
that led me both far away and nowhere,
I would float as consciousness in a stream —
but the heaviness is too much to bear.
If I were nothing more than a dreamer,
I’d surely be a feather blown away.
Was I ever called to be a seeker?
Or am I only a soul in decay?
If wishes were nothing more than dark clouds
with pieces of me left out in the rain,
I’d be a lost soul…
