Updates and End-of-the-Month Reflections

Hi. I know I haven’t been here in a while.

I was feeling exhausted from the grind, which I was able to keep up with in 2019–2022 and sort of in 2023.

However, I have been posting semi-regularly on Substack more this year. I wanted to start an email newsletter because it’s an easier way for readers to stay connected.

I experimented with a paid newsletter, but it didn’t align with my long-term goals.

All I really want to do is work on books, albums, and eventually tackle other creative forms like musicals and epic poems (think The Iliad and Paradise Lost). I can no longer see how posting 20 articles a month fits into my goals, if I’m being completely honest.

But blogging has its place. I realize how I sucked the enjoyment out of blogging by filtering out my thoughts and restraining myself too often. I want to enjoy blogging again.

So for Medium, I don’t have any grand plans, but my goal for 2025 is to be unapologetic in my criticism in any essay or article that I do write (an example would be talking about why most popular Instapoetry lacks creativity).

For the past few months, I’ve mainly been reorganizing certain things in my life:
