During early 80’s, Florence was a hive of post-punk influenced intriguing bands, with Litfiba (first era), Pankow, Neon and Moda bringing genuine new wave music to Italy. But the stunning lyricism of Diaframma is unforgettable. And their first album Siberia (1984 for I.R.A., a legendary independent record label) is a milestone in the Italian alternative music scene. Born in 1979 (as a Joy Division cover band) and with several lineup changes, Diaframma are still playing today, thanks to the founder guitarist Federico Fiumani, a charismatic singer and passionate poet.

Il ghiaccio si confonde
con il cielo, con gli occhi
e quando il buio si avvicina
vorrei rapire il freddo
in un giorno di sole
che potrebbe tornare in un attimo solo.
