Shielding via Community Voting: Calling for NFT Watch — Voters!
Creators — it’s time to #getShielded!
We’re excited to announce that the time has finally come & we aim to get the first NFT collections shielded as soon as possible — ideally before Christmas!
Together with the creators of NFT Watch, we published a website that explains the process of shielding, blacklisting as well as all the roles which are involved.
If you are a creator, please read the conent carefully. The Code of Conduct for collections as well as the Shielding section is where you should keep an eye at — there are some pre-conditions defined which a collection needs to fulfill in order to be eligible for a vote.

What are shielded collections?
Shielded collections do not violate the Code of Conduct and fulfill the basic pre-conditions defined by Proton NFT Watch.
Additionally, they passed a voting procedure with support from community to #getShielded.
Community Voting
The shielding process will heavily depend on community engagement and participation in votes.
All votes will be conducted in the #nft-watch-voting channel on the Discord of Soon.Market.
In order to be able to participate in the votes, the NFT Watch — Voter role has to be obtained.
Become an NFT Watch — Voter!
In order for a community member to get the NFT Watch — Voter role, following actions are required:
- Join the Discord of Soon.Market
- Send 1 XPR to the account nftwatch with the message “voter <discord-handle>”
-> Example transaction - Provide the link to your transaction on Protonscan and ask an NFT Watch — Guard to assign the role on Discord in the #apply-for-voter-role channel.
Note:
- Discord-handle MUST include the profile id (e.g. “protonGuy#1234”)
- The Proton account used to apply for the role must have had their first activity at least 3 months ago
Initial Community Vote: Amount of required Upvotes
Before the actual shielding process starts, an initial vote will be conducted where the community can decide how many upvotes a collection needs to collect, in order to #getShielded.
The vote will start on Wednesday, 07.12.2022, 9 AM PST and last 1 week.
Note: There will only be upvotes in the future shielding votes. If community members don’t care about a collection they should simply ignore the vote.
Twitter Space — don’t miss!
With the end of the initial vote we will host a Twitter Space on Wednesday, 14.12.2022, 9 AM PST and discuss together with Stonebreaker who represents the NFT Watch — Guards of Proton NFT Watch, how the community can help to make Proton not only a better place, but also a safer place for NFTs!
During the Twitter Space you can ask any question in the #nft-watch-discussion channel and/or the general #chat channel (for Soon.Market related questions) on our Discord.
