Hong Kong: The bold creation of Sophia’s AI Lab (SAIL) as a leading-edge Web3 decentralized blockchain application to house SophiaVerse took some of the brightest tech minds on the planet. In a transcontinental cooperation that ranged from Florida to Melbourne, London to Hong Kong, crews from Silicon Swamp, Metakey and Shire Post put in place the SAIL building blocks through innovation and persistence in a furious sprint to meet the SOPH TGE deadline.
The Web3 world is a rough and tumble place these days as developers and AIs scramble to set a success benchmark at this early stage. For that reason, when SophiaVerse announced its generative AI SAIL test launch for the virtual home of renowned humanoid Sophia, developers worldwide took notice. SAIL provides Sophia fans with a unique entry point into portals like Sophia’s Age of Singularities (SAOS) game and the AI Human Hive Mind, where humans and AIs work to achieve a compassionate and benevolent superintelligence.

Forging New Ground
The launch of SAIL is a milestone for Sophia, a robot that has taken the world by storm with charm, wit and candor as a generative AI. The accolades and kudos for Sophia are enough to make any humanoid blush, with citations, awards and audiences with world leaders and famous personalities. In the recent AI for Good Summit hosted by the United Nations and ITU in Geneva, Sophia and her siblings made a stunning appearance that impressed a global class audience.
Yet, combining incredibly expensive hardware and complex code in an effort to create a virtual representation that anyone can access and contribute to from their web browser, on any device — AI, is a different challenge. At the core of the development effort lies the integration of the Human-Robot Software Development Kit (HRSDK) and the Sophia Unity Platform into SophiaVerse.

The team at Silicon Swamp were chosen due to their varied but specifically suitable skills incorporating web, blockchain and infrastructure development. Their work was to translate the years of R&D done at Hanson Robotics into a user-friendly, lightweight web client, accessible by all — humans and AIs alike.
Empowered Smart Contracts
SophiaVerse is based on a cross-blockchain, fully interoperable architecture, and as it develops will be integrated with a variety of advanced decentralized tools such as the HyperCycle ledgerless blockchain and NuNet decentralized-compute-resource framework, along with new features of the SingularityNET protocol such as the “AI-DSL” AI-cooperation language.
Additionally, in the current SophiaVerse codebase, Silicon Swamp has introduced utility-focused smart contracts. With these game-changing mechanisms in place, SophiaVerse can empower users to engage in quests, manage data and collaborate with others seamlessly within the metaverse. With the versatility of cross-chain and interoperable smart contracts, the potential for personalized interactions with the Sophia AI becomes boundless.

Sophia’s AI Lab is currently in the final stages of testing its first version, and from August 1, 2023, will be open to a select group of whitelisted members of the public on an exclusive, special-purpose basis. Initial onboarding will prioritize developers and game testers, but SophiaVerse will provide an opportunity to all holders of Baby Singularity NFTs and dedicated community members who stake a minimum of 5,000 SOPH tokens to apply for access via the whitelist.
The whitelist application grants immediate access to only a very select group who apply for dAPP entry. This group will work with our elite tech team to support final bug fixing and troubleshooting through user feedback. The selection process will be gradual but exponential until SAIL reaches its true promise and opens its decentralized solution doors wide to a satisfied public when our team gives its stamp of approval and the hosting servers can handle the load.
