We are delighted to share with you further details on the Gaming Arena’s new league structure and the process behind opening these leagues and divisions for each game week.

These rules are applicable from the game week starting Tuesday 26th of August (Game Week 93).

At the beginning of the year, we had 3 main SO5 tournament structures in which managers could compete in: the All-Star Global, the All-Star Under-21 (which became Under-23), and the Weekly League.

With an increasing number of clubs and leagues under license (96 clubs as of today), we’ve adapted to create new League structures so that Sorare managers could build many different teams with the cards they collect. The result is an increase in potential open tournaments from 10 to 27!

There are many different weekly leagues in which you can compete for great prizes with your cards:

The Global Structures:

  • All-Star Global: A league in which you compete with player cards from all the countries we cover. There are 4 available divisions
  • All-Star U23: A league in which you can compete with player cards that are 23 years old or younger from all the countries we cover. There are 4 available divisions
  • Rookie League: A league in which you can compete with only your common cards in up to 8 weekly tournaments.

The Regional Structures:

  • European Champions: A league in which you can compete with player cards from the top 5 European football leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1). There are 4 available divisions.
  • European Challengers: A league in which you can compete with player cards from all the other European football leagues that we cover (Portuguese Liga, Russian Premier League, Eredivisie, Belgium Pro League, Scottish Premiership, Turkish SuperLig, English Championship). There are with 4 available divisions.
  • Asian Champions: A league in which you can compete with player cards from all the Asian leagues we cover (J.League, K League, Chinese Super League). There are 4 available divisions.
  • American Champions: A league in which you can compete with player cards from all the American countries we cover (MLS, Superliga Argentina, Liga MX, Colombian Primera A, Brasileiro Serie A). There are 4 available divisions.

The Special Structures:

  • Weekly Tournaments: A tournament with a changed theme every week (Under-21s, Above-30s, only Ligue 1 cards, etc).
  • Training center: An open league with 1 division tournament in which you can train your cards to gain more XP. You can build as many teams as you want in it.

We’ve recently adapted to the current context: certain leagues have started their new seasons while others have yet to start. We’ve heard Sorare managers loud and clear. It is essential to be able to plan one’s different teams ahead of the new game week being available in Sorare!

Our Process to Open a League and its Divisions is the following:

  • A league will be opened if there are more than 10 clubs under license playing during that game week (except for the U23 league where there will need to be more than 20 clubs).
  • When we open a new league, all the divisions of that league will be available to compete in.

These rules are applicable from the game week starting Tuesday 26th of August.

By the end of the summer (21st September), we will have finished upgrading our new gaming arena: division eligibility will be based on the scarcity of your cards, with XP being useful as a scoring bonus.

We will also push to iterate further on the rewards system so as to help managers upgrade from one division to another more smoothly and that the best rewards do get awarded to the top-ranked players.
