The transfer market is a key resource for the growth of top teams. Trying to improve the squad in the summer for a winning season, the mission is always the same but with different protagonists. Aside from Erling Haaland and Gabriel Jesus who already made an incredible impact in England, it is important to point out the excellent start of five players around Europe.

Robert Lewandowski does not seem to have suffered from the change of league from the Bundesliga to La Liga: 11 goals in 8 total games with Barcelona, and the top scoring player in LaLiga thus far on Sorare (Last 5 average: 72). The feeling in the locker room is excellent because all his teammates already recognize him as a humble leader with a winning mentality. An excellent deal for Barça, a superstar who is helping his team right away.

Aurelien Tchouameni started his first season at Real Madrid perfectly; the pressure is huge after a €100m total package add-ons included to sign him from Monaco, but Aurelien seems to have already been part of Real Madrid for many years. Internally, Carlo Ancelotti and his collaborators believe that Tchouameni can truly become the best midfielder in the world… or to compete with Eduardo Camavinga for that award!

In Serie A, Paulo Dybala has made the fans of AS Roma fall in love: 4 goals, 2 assists already to his name, one of the Top 5 players in Italy on Sorare (L5: 67), and above all an incredible amount of skills shown in his first months with José Mourinho. Sources confirm to me that Paulo already has a great relationship with Tammy Abraham on and off the pitch, and it shows. There is an excellent feeling between the two stars and Roma have found the quality of Dybala as a new factor. For sure, Paulo can be considered an extra luxury signing.

Vitinha has surprised many with how quickly he’s become a fixture in the PSG midfield (IMAGO Images)

Vitinha’s fast impact at Paris Saint-Germain has come a bit more unexpected but just as positive. New coach Galtier is very satisfied with his €40m signing from Porto; he helps with quality, energy, effort and talent. It’s not easy to integrate quickly into PSG’s star-studded roster, but Vitinha already has 10 season appearances and may prove to be one of the most underrated signings in Europe.

And the power of the present and the future will always be with the young players: after sitting out the first two games for a red card suspension stemming from last season, Calvin Bassey has conquered the place as starter and new leader in Schreuder’s Ajax. A defender with speed, strength, running and a lot of personality; many in the football industry are convinced that in two or three years he will be on the list of many top clubs in England and elsewhere… the beginning of the season has been very good, there is still a lot of potential but I consider Bassey a top player of the future.
