New week, new episode of Here We Scout focusing on the Süper Lig. In Turkey there is always great competition and enthusiasm between the most important teams, the possible surprises and emerging talents but also the top players looking for a “second life” in Süper Lig.

Galatasaray had an exciting summer by signing top players like Lucas Torreira and Dries Mertens, but I think Sergio Oliveira can have a big impact in Turkish football. Experience, quality, a good second half of the season at AS Roma and now a championship where he can best express his qualities. Needs some time to be in top form, then it’s time for him to shine.

Enis Bardhi’s impact with Trabzonspor was already excellent with two goals against Antalyaspor despite the defeat, but this midfielder, who signed for €3m from Levante, may be a surprise in the long-term.

The talent of Gedson Fernandes has fascinated me since he was in the Benfica youth academy and was compared to Paul Pogba. Now at Besiktas he must return to show his skills. The Turkish Süper Lig is his happy place to improve and grow after the 6 goal contribution at Rizespor last season, and … he’s still 23.

In the Premier League, on the other hand, they know Joshua King very well… so he doesn’t need any presentation. 48 PL goals at the time of Bournemouth, a proposal from Serie A this summer but the desire to try a new experience in Turkey; Jorge Jesus believes a lot in Joshua, I think it’s an interesting opportunity for your team.

Finally, Mesut Özil has to take a big revenge after a bad chapter at Fenerbahçe. He needs a comeback season and the Basaksehir believed in his desire for redemption; it will maybe take a few weeks to see it again in the best condition, but it is a fascinating choice.
