Here’s everything you need to know to kick off your Sorare Rivals journey.
Select your match(es)
Football never sleeps. On Sorare, we have official licenses with more than 350 clubs around the world — across the top leagues — so you can flex your football acumen via Sorare Rivals just about every day of the year. Start by selecting the match(es) you want to compete in.
Build your lineup
From there, you set a five-player lineup within a draft budget for each matchup. Player draft budget amounts are based on recent performance and Sorare’s advanced scoring system (more on that below).
Choose your tactics
Once you’re happy with your lineup, it’s time to select your tactics — such as Tiki Taka and Joga Bonito. This is what separates the football manager contenders from the pretenders.
Each tactic tracks a different collective stat for your full lineup; if you hit the tactic threshold, your full lineup receives a bonus player score. For example, Tiki Taka tracks the accurate passes of your five-player lineup for the game. If your lineup completes over 199.5 passes in a game, you’ll get a whopping 40-point bonus. That’s a tactical masterclass pat on the back for you, and well earned bragging rights.
Challenge friends and foes
Your Rivals journey begins by challenging your ‘“friends.” Note the quotation marks! There are no friends on Rivals, just opponents that need an ego-check.
It’s easy to set up: Once you’ve selected your matchup(s), challenge your friends or foes to a Rivals matchup.
Imagine turning heated debates about football tactics and player performances into real challenges. Sorare Rivals makes this possible; settle your scores on the virtual pitch!
Track performance in real time
Thanks to Sorare gameplay, you will feel every action on the pitch. Track your lineup’s live performance with Sorare’s 48-stat scoring system, the most advanced in fantasy football. But be warned: Every action counts! When you watch your Rivals games live, you will feel every action.
Unlock the Arena
Once you’ve beaten a friend for the first time and basked in the glory of victory, you unlock the “Arena.” Look, every matchup in Rivals is competitive, but the Arena is ultra competitive. In the Arena, you play for Reputation Score, streaks, and Mystery Reward Boxes.
Your Reputation is on the line, quite literally. Win in the Arena, and you win Reputation Points. Lose, and your Reputation Score takes a hit. (Your Reputation Score is publicly visible for all Sorare Rivals Managers to see.) All Managers start at a Reputation of 100 points*, and aim to climb the Reputation ranks from Unknown, to Regional Prodigy, to GOAT. In the Arena, you match up against Managers at a similar level to you.
*Note that all Sorare Managers who helped test the Rivals Beta have had their Reputation Scores reset to 100.
Special prizes for football fans
Dominating also unlocks rewards by completing challenge streaks in the Arena, such as consecutive Rivals wins. Complete streaks and you’ll win a Rivals Mystery Box. In each box you have a chance to win amazing prizes such as player-signed football jerseys, Sorare Pro cards, match tickets, and much more!
