Mobile phone verification now live in the gaming arena

Beginning today, in order to participate in our weekly tournaments, you’ll need to register your account to a mobile number. We will require mobile verification for all accounts without exception. You’ll only need to go through this process once and you can only attach one account to your phone number. We are making this change with two goals in mind:

• Prevent players from multi-accounting
• Strengthen account security for managers

It takes less than 20 seconds, here’s how it works:

Preventing players from multi-accounting

Playing Sorare with multiple accounts is cheating. It is strictly forbidden as it increases the odds of winning rewards relative to other managers. Over the last few months, we’ve successfully banned several accounts that engaged in multi-accounting in our fantasy game.

This is a first step in building a healthier and more competitive gaming arena for all. There will be more iterations of the in-game design that will make multi-accounting totally irrelevant for any manager.

There will be two ways to protect your Sorare account:

• 2 Factor Authentication (2FA)
• Mobile phone verification (coming in your settings)

As a reminder, all managers can enable two-factor authentication. Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to settings
2. Click on enable 2 Factor Authentication (2FA)
3. Follow the process to link your Sorare account to a 2FA like Google Authenticator or Authy.
