Sorare Launches ‘Instant Buy’ for New Cards on Web and Mobile
Editor’s Note (Nov. 30, 2023): This article has been updated to reflect the introduction of Instant Buy to Sorare NBA.
To help Sorare Managers scout and build their teams on both web and mobile, we’re launching a new “Instant Buy” feature that offers another way to collect Limited Cards — the first-level scarcity cards that you can buy, sell, and trade (i.e. “Pro Cards”) — and join advanced competitions with top rewards.
Instant Buy lets you immediately purchase newly issued (minted) Limited Cards at a set price, offering a seamless experience on the Sorare Marketplace. In addition to Auctions and Manager Sales, you will now see a new Instant Buy tab to purchase new season cards. These cards are newly issued and bought directly from Sorare.
Also, for the first time ever, Managers will be able to purchase new season Limited cards through the Sorare iOS app.
Maintaining card and supply integrity
This new feature is an evolution of our Starter Bundles test and offers an additional market experience. Cards that are sold in this new Market tab are part of our auction supply. Please note: This initiative does not increase the number of cards we sell and it does not influence a card’s rewards allocation.
As a part of our efforts to carefully manage the initial launch, cards bought through the Instant Buy feature on iOS cannot be resold or traded for a period of 14 days after initial purchase.
In addition to the above commitments, we will carefully monitor the evolution of this feature and your community feedback so that it only has positive results on our community’s first-time purchase experience, onboarding, and scouting.
Where can I find Instant Buy?
In addition to the Market page Instant Buy tab, we are testing other entry points to present this new purchasing option to our Managers at different stages of their progression in the game.
Scaling across sports + Android
To begin with, Instant Buy is available for Sorare Football and NBA on web and the IOS app (only Football for now). The Instant Buy tab will also eventually launch on Sorare: MLB. And for our Android-based Managers, work is already underway to deliver this feature as soon as possible.
Goodbye to Starter Packs
With the launch of Instant Buy, we are concluding our Starter Bundles experiment. While it was a valuable exploration that helped the successful launch of Instant Buy, it did not offer the frictionless experience that Instant Buy offers.
A piece to the larger picture
Along with our recent platform redesign, and our ongoing work of a new daily gameplay (Rivals 🤫), the Instant Buy feature is another crucial component of our strategy to streamline our onboarding experience and greatly improve the Sorare mobile experience.
