Below you will find the gameplay summary for Sorare: NBA Beta. We will be testing new gameplay formats over the next few weeks and months.

You can find complete guidelines on our Sorare: NBA Guide.

Go to sorare.com/NBA to sign up and play! We cannot wait to see you set your lineups for the inaugural Game Week starting Friday, October 21st!

Fill your lineup:

There are two competition types within Sorare: NBA — Contender and Champion. Both competitions work within a points cap and require a five player lineup. Each player card has a points value associated with them called the ten-game average. This ten-game average is what counts against the overall points cap in a competition.

The difference between Champion and Contender competitions is Champion competitions have an MVP. Managers will be able to select one player out of their five spots to designate as their “MVP”. MVP points do not count against the cap for Champion competitions. For more details check out our Sorare: NBA Guide.

Managers can only use a card once per Game Week and only use each player once in the same lineup — even if you have two of their cards. For all details on scoring specifics please refer to Sorare: NBA Guide.

Enter a competition:

There are two competition windows each week: Monday through Thursday and Friday through Sunday. We call each competition window a Game Week. Game Weeks start 10 minutes before the first game in that window. That means if there is a game on a Monday starting at 7:00pm ET, lineups lock at 6:50pm ET and can no longer be changed after that time. Game Weeks end after the last game concludes. At that time, scoring is finalized and distribution of rewards begins.

All of the available competitions live in our Sorare: NBA Game Lobby which is live today! Here is a sneak peak of competitions coming this season.

Today, Common Contender and Common Champion competitions are available. This gives fans time to build their card collections ahead of other competition formats.

We will continue to release more competitions that allow you to play with your newly purchased Limited, Rare, Super Rare and Unique cards in the weeks following our initial launch. Throughout the season, we will keep Managers updated across our social channels and platforms so make sure to follow @SorareNBA and @SorareSupport for all updates.

Competition eligibility requirements:

Like Football and MLB, our NBA competitions have progressive eligibility requirements:

  • In the Casual competition, you can use all of your Common cards which you get when you sign up
  • For Limited competitions, you’ll need a full lineup of Limited cards
  • Rare competitions require at least 3 Rare cards with the rest being Limited cards
  • Super Rare competitions require 3 Super Rares with the rest being Rare cards
  • And Unique competitions require 2 Unique cards with the rest being Super Rare cards

Scoring points:

Actions that take place in an NBA game during the Game Week have corresponding point values. As your player completes one of those actions, he earns points for your team. Here’s the full breakdown of how players score points:

Winning rewards:

Every Sorare: NBA competition offers rewards in the form of new player cards — making each Game Week an opportunity to play and grow your collection!

Each competition provides the opportunity to win a reward, but the quality of that reward changes based on the competition and based on your team’s performance: the higher your score, the stronger the player you’ll win as a reward! Available rewards are specified before the competition begins.

Check out the “Sorare: NBA — Card Populations, Rewards & Auction” blog for more details on rewards, and make sure to check back in the Sorare: NBA Lobby after a Game Week ends to see what card you’ve added to your collection!
