Now home to over 1.7 million users and 245 partnering clubs, Sorare is quickly evolving into the platform of choice for sports fans who want to connect with and support their favorite teams and players online, wherever they are in the world.

Integral to Sorare and our goal of building the next sports entertainment giant is our user experience and visual identity. From our mobile app to the digital trading cards representing players past and present, from Kylian Mbappe to Johan Cruyff, design is a crucial component of the Sorare experience. That’s why, as part of our global expansion in 2022, we’re pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Sormaz as our Head of Design based in New York.

More about Dan

Dan joins Sorare after a decade at Spotify, where he served as Vice President of Design and was responsible for building and leading design teams focused on Spotify’s consumer products. Dan brings a wealth of experience designing world-class, captivating user experiences for some of the most popular products in the world. His primary objective at Sorare will be constructing a triple A design team out of New York and Paris for the platform over the coming months. To learn more, we spoke to Dan about what excites him about Sorare and the future of sports entertainment:

Why I joined Sorare:

As a sports fanatic from as young as I can remember, I grew up obsessed with my favorite teams and athletes. That fandom was nurtured over many years through collectibles like trading cards and stickers, as well as videogames and fantasy sports that I played with friends online.

As a professional, I’ve devoted my entire career to working in design and technology. I’m someone who gets incredibly excited and creatively stimulated by the possibilities new technologies enable for the user experience.

Sorare sits at an amazing, wonderfully innovative intersection of all of these passions: exciting new technology (web3/blockchain) and sports fandom. What’s more, Sorare is backed by a remarkably talented and passionate world class team, and a hyper-engaged, loyal community of players and fans. Joining Sorare just made sense: both as a fan, and as a professional.”

What I will bring to Sorare:

“At Sorare, I hope to bring my decades of experience in the technology and product design worlds to help invigorate Sorare’s look and feel and envision the next sports entertainment powerhouse. I believe that I can help Sorare unlock an entirely new experience around sports fandom that doesn’t exist today, but will empower the next generation of sports fanatics across the digital and physical worlds in the near future.”

If shaping the future of digital sports fandom sounds like a fit for your resume, we’re recruiting across various roles this year with the goal of hiring 200 new team members over the next months. Check our open positions in both France and in the U.S to find out how you can sign for Team Sorare.
