Election Countdown #15 — I Want to be a Serf
We’re coming up on a momentous event — which way will we choose?
I’m addressing issues facing the country in the upcoming midterm election. We’re now only 15 days away, and I’m counting down the reasons I want to vote a certain way.
Some states have already opened early voting. Florida just did. Although it has taken issue with some voters it had already approved. But that’s Florida.
What’s at stake? Many say democracy vs. authoritarianism.
I say democracy or feudalism!
Yes. Have you ever wanted to be a serf? No, I didn’t say smurf. And I didn’t ask if you wanted to surf.
Just think of all those things medieval Europe experienced that many in America are unfamiliar with. Feudalism. Serfdom. Black plague.
If you’re not insanely rich, you’ll get to be a serf. You’ll get to be a peasant!
How cool is that?
Now, I worked on a farm in high school and college, and even dug ditches for a guy who was doing some upgrade to his back yard. (I don’t remember the details, just that my brother and I worked during the summer, shirts off to get tanned, digging in his yard.)
