If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman --Margaret Thatcher

You are not the weight you carry,
Nor the height walls shy away
from,
You are not in your numbers
Nor in alphabets borne,
You are not in hair’s colour
Long lashes in eye’s fit,
You are not the healthy
melanin or absence of it —

You are not that bulge which
You get anxious to drop,
The world loves muffins
Why not muffin tops?!

You are not she or her
in diamond or mink,
You are not that
Dimple which makes
you an image that
blinks — -
.
.
.
.
You are the sun, the moon, in that sky star-clutched,
You are in esteem, in respect, in dignity touched,
You are in that melted heart, where love throngs,
You are in that rage, when hands feel wrong,
You are in books you read, in fantasy cuddled,
You are in concept, in form, in ideas muddled,
You are in your words, those form in verses
In that croaky voice, fences which traverses,
You are in places travelled, visited in dreams
In those sweet melodies, often in those beams,
You are in the force, in moments soft,
You are in essence, in beauty loft,
You are in that laughter all pervading,
You are in those tears sucked up in gaiety,
You are in the centre of centre, in extremity,
You are the destroyer, melting pot of humanity,
You are the progenitor, mothering infinitely,
You are the rebel, often found in piety,
You are the heat, you are the calm,
You are the power, you are the balm,
You are belief, you are faith,
You are in boon, so as in bane,
You are the perfect, so imperfect you,
You are in YOU, and all those non-YOUs,
You are a gush of wind un-apologetic,
You are palm full of earth cathartic

You are the healer
Healing, healing ,healing….

Or what do you think women existed for?

Author’s Note: “Now you understand, Just why my head’s not bowed,I don’t shout or jump about,Or have to talk real loud, when you see me passing,It ought to make you proud,I say” — Maya Angelou

The month of March is designated as ’Women History Month’, and this year the theme being “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” (UN announcement),and the events around the world are on how women are responding to climate change.

Though 8th March, every year is celebrated as “Women’s Day”, only hoping a day comes these symbolic celebrations give way to a system more meaningful.

Last but not the least, know my gratitude for stopping by my Soul Bay.Its always a pleasure to host you!
