Healing,Painting by Monoreena

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
– C.S. Lewis

You hurt me that day —

Those shining wordless
moments,
You splashed with ink,
Drowned in the ink-pool
Words are leaving shape…

I believed you,
In your brilliance,
Your distinct ability
To see beyond,
See deep,

To hear the unheard
To see the unseen

Does true friendship
entail reinforcement
everyday

I always loved the ‘ideas of things,’
Ideas have loyalty
embedded
They don’t leave you
Unlike time and humans,
Jettisoning love by the
sidewalk to shiver
In the cold….

I am in that air
You breathe
In that thin beam of bright ,you
want to fist on a sub-zero
day…

I would like to give you the silver branch,
the small white flower, the one word
that will protect you
from the grief at the centre
of your dream, from the grief
at the centre. **

For all those walks wrapped
in warmth
For all those creating spark in
the backyard
For all those talks of burning
a lasting fire…

Know
Friends don’t leave,
Even when not seen.

Author’s Note:
“Don’t make friends who are comfortable to be with. Make friends who will force you to lever yourself up.” — Thomas J. Watson

Friendship is the only relational tag, nameless in its essence, that sets you free.
Since a tender age it has been hammered into my head, that no relation is worth its salt without an element of friendship, which largely entails free and fair sharing based on Trust, where words spoken and unspoken are understood with equal elan.
You go searching for that and growing up, you realise , its is not that easy to find one in this world, may be the reason we have so many of us writing poetry (pun intended).
No relationship, be it with our parents, kids or partner/spouse become long term and workable, if there in no element of friendship/companionship, based on belief, loyalty and having each others back un-asked.
It is important to reach that point, and reaching that point is the goal we all target and wish to walk to.
Taking time to lay foundations for friendship is wise, but losing faith in the process is not.
Waiting for that moment when it blooms and spreads its fragrance for the world to see and commend, is tasting heaven.
A good friendship heals.

Which brings me to my abstract painting ‘Healing’. When grey (colour of negativity) holds hand with yellow (colour of positivity), healing blooms.

**Marked lines:
Of all the poets I read and admire, one of them is definitely Margaret Atwood. These lines are taken from one of her famous poems, variation-on-the-word-sleep ,which I loved reading and wanted to use it in my writings.
I am happy, it happened today!

Here’s tagging a few I have been calling friends for good number of days now, walking that path of understanding and appreciation for each other, a note of acknowledgement to:
Sujona Chatterjee Ali Hamsalekha Gurpreet Dhariwal Yana Bostongirl Trista Signe Ainsworth Sharing Randomly

The list has grown over months, only including all is a difficult reality here.

Thank you for stopping by.
