“Remember: there are no small parts, only small actors.” — Konstantin Stanislavski, an influential Russian actor and theatre director.

Words are life’s prop.
beautiful. Unnecessary.

I see you closing your eyes.
To concentrate.
mic on. Pause.

You clear your throat.
That slice of last minute.
Anxiety.

I see you.
The smile touches your teeth.
You know you are being heard.
Selections to go home with.

Tenderness flows like cascading
Music.
Lilting metamorphosis of words into emotions.

Uplifting. Inspirational.Mesmerising.
Tapping of feet.
Tuning in of minds.
Reversal of blood flow
from brain to heart.

How mundane words leave the pages
Feather curved to slowly elevate thoughts
Growing branches and capillaries
Fineries of entering unaccustomed
labyrinths of the soul.

The meat within pause
Between words.

Slaying that sentience.
A little drama here. Intended.
A little brilliance there. Organic.
Connection.Complete.

The Stage.
Presence. Performance. Power.

From where you enter the poem —

Gig Cafe: “Art is energy, emotion, entertainment and sometimes economics.”
Amit Kalantri, Wealth of Words
As someone who started her creative stint as a performing artist (music) it doesn’t come as a surprise to me when ‘written’ poetry hardly has audience, performed poetry attracts some obscene amount of ear-tymps (as opposed to eye balls!), running into millions.
It should not be lost on us creatives the power of audio-visual and its ability to stimulate brain to assimilate information and form memories.
As word-merchants we are aware of how words yield power, but often overlook the impact of a pause, a sigh or a wry smile, which can become potent weapons of connection.
Ignoring moments unpoetic, which can create poetic moments that connect, is drowning poetry to our own peril.

Au Revoir from Soul Bay. Staying with my thoughts and expressions and finding you every time to share them is a wonderful place to be, Thank you!

Leaving with an Anxiety Performance, by very talented Sainee Raj in a way it brings a smile.I chose this because it shows how spoken poetry can gather numbers just by being what it should be — a Soul Connect. Enjoy:))
