“The true genius shudders at incompleteness — imperfection — and usually prefers silence to saying the something which is not everything that should be said.” ― Edgar Allan Poe, Marginalia

A Porcupine goad from the mirror
My hair, hello to my fallen days…
I am busy checking my attire,
‘Off to the stars’ it reads —
Damn. I say.

The chimney above bellows black clouds
Hearth tender, knackered from
burning the whole night,
Fuzzy maze hide the stars —
Only splinters fly in search of fire,

In the light of dark, my elliptical shadow
shapes my mane,
Ask my faded pajamas to write their story —
Lion meeting fox midway, poor deer in disarray,

May tame some stubborn strands
My hair will find a comb today…..

Combing Notes: “Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we’re all in this together.” ― Brené Brown

Rain which rusts, writes Poetry. Over time, poetry can rust or can be about Rust.
And todays dedication is to my (and all like me) ‘Changed Hair Days’ which can be ‘Bad Hair Day’ for any of you.
Becoming curly from straight, brownish from black, standing from settled are early signs of ‘Autoimmune flare onset’. They may last for few hours to days, often months.

I am not someone to generally talk about any bodily experience or lack of it, but how you wear your hair spells your personality, at least to the world who visions you — it’s often about self-esteem, freedom to be or inclusivity, which cannot be a topic thrown to the corner like ‘back benchers’.

I wear my hair ‘bad’ on my severe flare days, which I know I can safely extend to many in my community or anybody going through regular hormone changes.
So, next time you find an odd (to your eyes) hairdo don’t bother asking” What’s wrong with your hair today?”

No one is different by choice. We are different by need.

Symbolism of Calender Noting notwithstanding , a perfect day to talk about ‘imperfections’ and here’s to ill-informed Externality the world devours and the oft neglected Human Story of Health or absence of it.
Can’t leave without a Geoffrey Chaucer gem ,“If gold rusts, what then can iron do?” ― The Canterbury Tales

Today, I want to tag a few Women Editors whom I have followed and admired the way they have created space for themselves and making sure the flock is together by giving latitude to everyone to be themselves, exhibiting great leadership skills:
Dr. Preeti Singh Dr. Gabriella Korosi Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles Sharing Randomly (Lorena), Amanda Laughtland Carolyn Hastings Indubala Kachhawa Yana Bostongirl Priyanka Srivastava Katie Michaelson Denise Larkin. The list is long and I have limitations.

Also remembering all my tribe for sharing your energy, positivity and spirit and all men who stand by us in support !

Thank You and Happy Women’s Day 🥂
