“And we find the most perfect stick and the most perfect fossil, and we take them home where everything is safe and mended, and the whole time, how I can I tell you, all I think is — our baby reclined in a stroller without pain and without vomiting for an entire hour” — MelissaMulvihill

How many times do you hear the soul of a mother, beating silently to the raining lacrymal that drench your mind porch?

The poetic memoir of dealing with a difficult child birth proceeded by un-diagnosed CVS (Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome) and ordeals of dealing with an insensitive healthcare system has been beautifully chronicled by Melissa Mulvihill in her book Something You don’t know yet.

I know there are several mothers who in their own capacity trudged through days of anxiety and nights of silent tears nurturing for their own babies, and if sick — God be with them.

Melissa Mulvihill in her book “Something You Don’t Know Yet”, by her sheer creativity has turned this experience of pain into poetry, in her unique and original way with words, and we in ShabdAaweg Press are proud to be associated with this book.

The book is its own poignant ways touch upon sensitive subjects of Motherhood,
Mental health,
Physical health and
Ill equipped healthcare system.

As this is what we plan to do in ShabdAaweg — to partner dreams of writers to become published and talk about social issues that plague the society, we are holding a LIVE session with the Author,Melissa Mulvihill to be conducted by Nachi Keta on Sunday,Time: 10pm IST/12:30pm EST, Facebook Live.

ShabdAaweg is a creative off-shoot of Medium Publication Literary Impulse, helmed by Nachi Keta and Priyanka Srivastava.
Many writers writing for this publication may have been featured in their quarterly reviews and now it has started with its Press & Publishing Wing.

Something You Don’t Know Yet
by Melissa Mulvihill is a progress to that direction.

Do check out the website for further details:https://shabd.aaweg.com

Reading this book was a completely new experience in poetry/prose for me — images moving like projector slides gliding from one image to the other, telling a simple story of a mother, her love and anxiety for her new born and how she succeeded in overcoming her impediments.

My involvement goes a little further as a designer of the book cover, a process and experience I enjoyed thoroughly (You can check website for details.)

We would like to invite mothers/fathers (both in womb & soul) to be present, to share their experience of parenthood (experienced or observed) and also listen to a real experience of a mother dealing with a sick child.

Your presence, if you deem fit, will be highly appreciated along with your feedback about the session:

Dr. Fatima Imam Victoria Gregg Ali Ali Hall Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles Dr. Preeti Singh Sujona Chatterjee A.H. Mehr Sally A Mortemore Yana Bostongirl Marilyn Glover Neera Handa Dr Carolyn Hastings Raine Lore Denise Darby

Also going with some tags Priyanka Srivastava has invited :Lubna Yusuf Era Garg, Annelise Lords, Erika Burkhalter William J Spirdione Pierre Trudel

Wishing you a happy weekend and hoping to find you among us, it’s a goodbye for now from Team ShabdAaweg.
