There Is Love In Honesty

Trying not to hurt someone’s feelings is a waste of their time…and yours.

I’ve seen it happen countless times and I’ve also done it myself — not being completely honest with someone because you don’t want to hurt their feelings. It’s hiding, concealing or withholding part of the truth (or all of the truth) in an effort to protect someone else…at least that’s what you tell yourself.

You’re honest just enough to placate the other person, but you don’t tell the whole truth. You think you have their best interest in mind, but you’re really protecting your own best interest.

No matter what your truth is, when you speak your truth with love you are always helping the other person. They may not feel like you’re helping them at the time, however, the truth has a way of serving the highest good for everyone involved.

When you are truthful you give the other person the gift of being able to make an informed decision fully knowing where things stand. Being compassionately truthful is a way to shower the situation with love.
