This Is Your Life To Live

I don’t know about you, but I’m busy living my life.
I have a friend who tells people that I’ve already lived many lives in my current lifetime. I know her well now, so I know the context she means it in. But, at first I didn’t know how to take the comment. I didn’t know whether it was a compliment to all the things I’ve done and tried, or a way of saying I was flighty.
Although my friend shares the statement as a joking compliment, not everyone views the cumulative experiences of my life the same. With time I’ve come to realize that no matter how other people view me as a repercussion of the comment (good, bad or other), the comment itself is actually a compliment. The comment is evidence that I am uninhibitedly living my life.
Of course there are times that I question my decisions and life path, and times I think I may actually be a bit flighty. I’ve had moments where I wondered if all my life changes and moving around is evidence that I can’t succeed; evidence that I’m not moving forward. However, I‘m starting to see that everything I’ve done up to this point is actually a representation of living life to the fullest. It’s my fullest expression of going for it in this one-of-a-kind life.
Going for it, winning, losing, repeating the cycle is all a part of consistently going after what it is I want and feel is right for my life — no matter the repercussions the decisions may bring. I take the risks. Sometimes I get the reward and sometimes I get the setbacks, but either way I get to live.
That’s the point of life — living it. Every single person is meant to LIVE. Every single person is meant to fully experience life. A word of caution — fully experiencing life is full of challenges, but it’s those challenges that become the experiences that cultivate you. The difficult times become the stories you share and the times you look back at and see your strength and tenacity to make it through. The difficult times also become your greatest teachers of trust, faith and patience.
The goal is to be so busy living life that you don’t have time for anything else to get through. The goal is to take advantage of all life has to give to you; don’t leave anything on the table for a future time or another day because there’s always the possibility that the future time will never come.
If you’re too busy living life, then you know you’re truly living.
