A novel that pulls your heartstrings both in agony and ecstasy.

Set in the Puritan society of 17 century Boston, the love story of Hester and Dimmisdale exposes the hypocrisy of the society. Hester, a married woman, begets a child, Pearl, with Dimmisdale and is forced to wear a dress with the letter A, meaning adultress, embroidered at the breast. She refuses to reveal her lover’s identity because of his important position in the town. The story moves on with twists and turns until Dimmisdale himself reveals his identity. For the society A stood for Adultress, but for him, it stood for Angel. When he dies, they see the letter A inscribed on his bare chest in blood.

Both Hester and Dimmisdale carry a single tombstone with the inscription letter A.

Such love stories carry sanctity, not infidelity.
