I am simplifying my life by letting go of what I no longer need

The world is a muddy place.
If you are carrying loads of possessions,
you will not cross this world
very quickly, if at all.
You will sink up to your neck.
Even the poor have far too much stuff in America
compared to much of the world and history.
Before the industrial age,
consumer items were scarce
and cherished.
Now,
they are but baubles
to adorn empty lives.

We don’t need
all the stuff in our lives.
They are suffocating us,
for the more our neighbors and we have,
the more we want.

Look around your life.
Are you living for your possessions:
your cars,
your house,
your memberships,
all your devices?
