Tis the season of friendship and family alike,
Homes all aglow from bright fairy lights,
Knitted jumpers and argyle sweaters,
Children draw pictures and write Santa letters.

Sparkling baubles and a glittering star,
Snow coating streets and the top of our car.
Presents wrapped neatly beneath a tree,
Smiles and laughter among family.

The magic of Christmas fills the air like a song,
It’s one we all know so we all sing along,
Like carollers calling on every door,
When Christmas ends, we want an encore.

Love passed around in the form of a gift,
Christmas time always gives spirits a lift,
Hot chocolate protecting us all from the cold,
Another Christmas past, a new story to be told.

Next year may look a little different than this,
Some of us may have a first mistletoe kiss,
But one thing remains the same and that is the joy,
That comes each year and never passes us…
