blossoming of rain
slow, then sudden
tears in the sky

torrential
the floodgates of heaven unstopped
the flower, my heart, unfurling
longing for the water that weighs it down

seeking lightning, seeking the storm
brightly rumbling
in shades of lavender, pink and white
blooming anew as sorrow seeps
away, through the spaces between my ribs

trickling from damaged places…
roots deep in the earth
growing, spreading into cool dark soil
petals washed pure
opening into the beautiful silence
heard after thunder

as i reach for you
as i reach for the sun
