She Knows Why I Am Here
Free Verse
A tenacious something is calling me again
My awareness of an energetic presence is swirling around me
My arms stretched in front of me
As my forehead rests on the ground
A reverential bowing
I break my silence
“Hail Mary Full of Grace”
As my love and devotion arise
My tears fall
Striking a pose of surrender
At the feet of the Divine Mother
No longer begging for something
No longer asking, “Mother are you listening?”
She knows why I am here
Through all my doing
My attachments to outcomes
My anger
She notices when my fist is tightly clenched
Perhaps the last attempt at grasping for something or someone
At one point turning my back on Her, who loves me unconditionally
Whose love I never have to earn
Whose love is constant
She guides me to see where my unworthiness latches onto the hidden parts
As I train myself to listen in the silence
She asks me to trust my deep knowing over other’s opinions, including mine
She reminds me to stay soft and open
She shows me the way to another layer of deeper awakening
