A Poem

Photo by Shreya Kollipara on Unsplash

Men don’t understand they are children from the land,
they are their offspring, like the flowers and the dust.
They burst from its entrails,
they blossom as they grow,
the fact they are leaping and dancing,
proves mother is not wrong.

She unleashed her children free
Let’s them fly away in peace.
But the men do not listen,
their own voices make much noise.
Heads aloft, away from Earth
no oxygen flows to their brains.

Men have failed to notice,
with fences, they scar her face,
rain and wind can go freely,
Earth allows the wild to roam.
Men with guns try to hush her,
She will continue to talk.
