I had forgotten I carried a rose within.

Thank you for ruffling the feathers that were clawing out –

I had forgotten I had inbuilt wings.

Thank you for carving shiny blue stains on my skin –

I had forgotten I had tasted sin.

Thank you for being wise, while I was foolish.

Memory being awkward,

- I forgot -

I was warped in good intentions and you were my road to purgatory.
