Reframing Democracy: GOP Tax Breaks for Billionaires? It’s a Nonstarter. So, Stop.
I’m starting to organize my thoughts on Democracy, and our little experiment called the United States of America. This article is part of the Reframing Democracy series, where I cut through the noise, the nostalgia, and the nonsense to remind America what this experiment was always meant to be: a government of the people, not a playground for the powerful.

Democracy doesn’t need defending. It needs reimagining.
Been to a town hall lately? Republican representatives are singing the praises of the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” that just rolled out of the House. They’ll tell you, sometimes with a straight face, that it delivers “real tax relief” for working people and the middle class.
Here’s the problem:
They’re either lying or haven’t read their own bill.
Fact: This bill isn’t tax relief for the middle class. It’s a Trojan horse stuffed with permanent giveaways for billionaires and, for the rest of us, it’s mostly a pile of hot, fresh crap wrapped in a tired, old plastic…
