A business is like having a baby. When people say that they want to start a business or grow a business to have more time, they get it all wrong. If you want to start a business, you must be ready to put in the hours and be prepared for many late nights. There are going to be a lot of unpredictable stuff that will happen to your business. You need to always be prepared to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.

It takes many late nights that people won’t see. There are a lot of times that your hard work will not be recognized and you get so frustrated that you start crying or really question your abilities. Just the same, you will not also be acknowledged for all the hard work that you put in or for any small development in your business.

If you have the right systems, infrastructures, processes and people in place, you will get things done. You will grow your business, maximize your profit and double your growth. However, don’t forget that that is only possibly after you have put in all the work. It will not happen fast, that is why you need to set up all processes. It may even take years before you get the result that you want, but don’t forget that this is also a learning process.

If you are looking to start your business, don’t do it for all the wrong reasons, because if your reason is to only have more time, then you’re getting it all wrong. Like I said, a business is like a baby, it need to be taken care of and nurtured day in, day out.

If your processes and systems are not set early on, then you won’t go anywhere. On the contrary, if those systems and processes are set up now, you will have the freedom eventually. It will take time. It won’t happen overnight.
