A strong House release is coming up on the Turkish imprint ROIT Recordings starring the Label chef Ave Astra and the newcomer from Belfast. Hard Kicks and concise bass are the main ingredients, spiked with vocal and instrumental cuts and more complex drum pattern; a true Detroit House gem.

Steven Mahon aka Embezzlement Society noticeably exhilarated talks about how the venture went down: “All I can really remember is that I put a track on SoundCloud for free download. Ali Çetinkaya aka Ave Astra heared it and asked if he could release it as an exclusive free download on his ROIT imprint.”

They got talking and the rest is history. Their style is similar and makes the EP unique in its own way; The second release on the imprint is pure underground sound.

ROIT Recordings itself is inspired by the Detroit soundscape and delivers raw House music and Techno bangers alike. The small label from Istanbul started in 2013 and is getting noticed by a greater audience lately.

“Music Sounds Good” has those melodic piano samples, straight rimshots and voice chops that are building the backbone of the song. Strings are coming in and are completing the arrangement; A funky and housy composition.

“Some What” sounds more blurry, the sounds are having that “Under water-touch”, even the drums, and shows that Ave isn´t afraid of working with different sounds and effects. It is an energetic and uplifting track that is completed by a strong, wide kick and the typical Detroit drum pattern.

The two songs on the B- side are both strong rhythmical tracks with an emphasis on uncompromising, serious house.

“Glad Your Mine” is starting with a rather reggae-ish vocal intro, the song develops into a more diverse composition with high brass sounds a strongly distorted guitar and different nicely placed effects.

“Westside Rumble” on the other hand is a straight banger that only leaves burned ground. Again, there is the strong emphasis on the bass (you can´t hear it properly but it´s there, trust me), and a raw touch that fills every dancefloor. Playing this one in a club is a must if you want to see some energy on the dancefloor.

Trust your ears:

Music is Good is hitting the shelves on the 1st of July 2016.
