Our Genesis Drop: About The Artist And NFT Sale

SoundMint’s first drop collaborates with an artist that embodies our mission. The KLOUD x HOOKER NFT collection asks NFT collectors to adopt a new way to appreciate art music. Additionally, the collection showcases a new form of creating music. Rather than offering copies of a single track or album, buyers will be privy to a one-of-a-kind art piece.
About the artist
KLOUD is an electronic producer & artist that merges timeless electronic sounds with modern production elements, sonically inspired by darker techno house, electro & analog synthesizers.
KLOUD debuted in 2018 as an electronic producer with an anonymous digital persona. The essence of KLOUD is a storyline consisting of future technology, the internet, artificial intelligence, and robotics. His anonymity separates his art from his personal life. KLOUD is a canvass meant to speak to each listener individually to represent themselves as individuals.
Our current digital and social climate often rewards individuals for knowing every detail of an artist’s life. But, unfortunately, the latter usually affects the artist’s work. In his Nobel prize acceptance speech, Earnest Hemingway illuminated the perils of fame as an artist’s personal life enters the limelight.
The artist “…grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone, and if he is a good enough writer, he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day.”
KLOUD’s sole focus is to shed identity in exchange for the freedom to create at his own will and discretion as an anonymous artist. His mission as a musician reflects SoundMint’s core mission of giving artists an entirely new medium of expression. In that regard, we view our genesis drop with KLOUD as a case study on what we believe is a new form of art music made possible by NFTs and blockchain technology.
About the collection
KLOUD’s upcoming KLOUD x HOOKER NFT sale comes fresh off the heels of his performance at Circuit Grounds at EDC 2021.
The NFT collection collaborates between KLOUD and Alex Hooker, a visual artist. Each unique piece maps KLOUD’s music to a visual artwork that resembles the tone and theme of a 30-second audio track.
With the launch of KLOUD x HOOKER comes long-term utilities, benefits, and perks that will allow fans and community members to become more involved in the future of how KLOUD grows. By owning a KLOUD x HOOKER NFT, fans access the KLOUD NFT Discord Community. Over time, collectors will have access to giveaways, raffles, and opportunities to win tickets to KLOUD shows, exclusive live events, whitelists for any future KLOUD NFT drop, and more.

About the NFT sale
The sale begins with a pre-sale for early contributors followed by a dutch auction:

- January 11th at 9:00 AM PST
- Buyers have 7 days to claim
- Pre-sale price 0.125
In order to participate in the pre-sale buyers will have to join our Discord and participate in our giveaway campaigns, competitions, and role based rewards for early contributors to the community. Below are some examples:

Dutch auction
- January 14th at 9:00 AM PST
- Starting price at 0.3 ETH
- Ending price at 0.1 ETH
The bidding for the Dutch auction will start accepting bids for the first 1000 mint slots on sale date; all initial bids will be considered for the first 5 minutes of the auction until we hit our max ceiling price. Once the price is set and the sale begins, collectors can purchase items at the designated price. After that, there is a gradual 0.025 ETH decline in price every 5 minutes.
