Zasilkovna trucks
Zasilkovna ready to delivery your Shopify orders

As you may have noticed, if you run a Czech or Slovak Shopify store, using Zasilkovna hasn’t been easy since the beginning of time on this platform. After many years, of no solution, one of our friends in Prague created is own:

However — there were some problems with his solution that later on he confirmed:

  • It wasn’t scalable
  • It wasn’t cheap
  • It wasn’t easy to implement
  • The customer flow had some pain points

Because of those issues, after more or less one year of offering this solution, Josef removed it from his website and started sending over to us people interested in the integration between Zasilkovna and Shopify.

Has it been done?

Yes. We did it for one of our clients at the end of 2019. You can still check it at https://mojemana.cz. After doing that, we realised it was time to build a scalable and accessible application everyone could use, even if not on the Shopify Plus plan.

The great news is that we’ve finally tested our alpha/beta version with two early-bird clients. Their feedback has been extremely helpful to discover potential confusions and opportunities. We’re almost finished with implementing the changes we were suggested and hope to open the app to the public at the beginning of April.

Some important information about the current version of the app, which you’ll install in your online store:

  1. The app administration — what you see, not your customers — will be for now only in English to accelerate the development
  2. In the beginning, we’ll have no option to export or sync orders into Zasilkovna and print labels. You’ll need to use this app for that temporarily: https://apps.shopify.com/export-orders-to-zasilkovna-cz — also from Josef Rousek 🙏
However, sooner than later, we’ll also implement this since it’s not too complex. We’re skipping this, for now, so you can start using the app as soon as possible.
  3. The app won’t be in the Shopify App Store just yet. Their approval process takes between 2 to 4 weeks — and we don’t want you to wait that long. Luckily, we’re able to share a simple link from which you’ll easily install the app into your store as usual.

Maybe I haven’t answered your main question yet: how much is this going to cost me?

Pricing

Good point! Honestly, we don’t know yet. We’re trying to find a balance between:

  • Product value — there’ll be no easier, better, cheaper, faster solution
  • Market cost — what you’re able and willing to pay
  • Fairness — to both parties
  • Sustainability — we can’t work nor maintain an app without a profit: we also have families to take care of :)

One of the options on the table that I like the most is to have different prices depending on the Shopify plan you’re using and allow everyone to access the same functionalities. Why I like this:

  • Starting business don’t get penalized for not being able to pay for better/advanced functionalities and automation
  • Stores with more orders/revenue — and higher plans, therefore — usually spend more resources and attention from our side, therefore they should be able to better support the app.
  • Bigger businesses which see the value in paying more for Shopify will also see the value in paying for our product.

Here’s how that looks like for other apps on Shopify. Nevermind the prices, just check the structure:

What do you think? Let us know — we appreciate all feedback. There’s also a chance we’ll have 2 or 3 plans, with different prices depending on the functionalities you want to have:

  • More customization options
  • More automation
  • More internationalisation
  • And so on…

What now?

This is our current plan for launch, step by step:

  1. Finish some implementation details based on our first customers’ feedback
  2. Share with you and the world our public link to install our app in your stores so you can start using it.
  3. Charge you 0. Nothing. Nada. FREE. Gratis….for now.
  4. We’ll then prepare some final details to get approved into the Shopify App Store, including our billing plans.
  5. Once we get approved, all people who have installed our app will be prompted to choose a tariff or approve a payment option to our app.
  6. After, we’ll continue working on making the app better and easier to use. We’ll be open to suggestions and new feature requests, but definitely, first of all, we’ll implement export and/or automatic order synchronization to Zasilkovna.
