Move over restaurants, food trucks are in
On Friday, November 2, I went down to Civic Park and interviewed two people who worked at different food trucks (Lenny: Que Sazon, Thomas: Lemongrass Shack) and Kristina, a customer.
It was interesting to see how Kristina came to the food trucks in downtown because of Lemongrass Shack. I also interviewed Thomas, whose first day working that food truck was that Friday.
Food is a big aspect that brings people together. If you think about holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, families come together and celebrate the holidays through big dinners with typical foods like ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, yams and stuffing.
However, on the daily basis, food brings us together for business meetings over lunch or dinner, dates, catching up with old friends, etc. As a society, we turned a vital need to survive, into a social event used many different ways.
Below are my interviews at the food trucks in Downtown Phoenix and I got a glimpse into the life of a customer who traveled for the food trucks and two employees of food trucks and their take on setting up shop by ASU.
Featured below are a few pictures from the food truck event.
Lenny’s son-in-law is from South America and started a food truck and moved out here.
This food truck is two-years-old and features foods from South America; specifically Colombia. Lenny mentions their loaded fries with chicken or pork have been very popular.
Thomas takes orders and prepares everything. His father was looking for extra money and met up with Thomas’ current boss, Apollo and and Thomas eventually said “I’ve got nothing to lose,” and joined.
