At source{d} we’re big supporters of the Machine Learning on Code (MLonCode) research community. For instance, we maintained a curated list of awesome research papers and resources related to Machine Learning applied to source code on GitHub.

We’re also proud sponsors and attendees of conferences for researchers in the fields of Software Engineering and programing languages analysis such as ICSME, MSR, ICSE and others.

Last year, the lead of the Machine Learning team at source{d}, Vadim Markovtsev and co-author Waren Long, even presented their research paper on “Public Git Archive” at the Mining Software Repositories (MSR) conference. For those of you who have never heard about MSR before, their website description below will give you a better idea of why we love attending MSR.

The Mining Software Repositories (MSR) conference field analyzes the rich data available in software repositories to uncover interesting and actionable information about software systems and projects. Software repositories such as source control systems, archived communications between project personnel, and defect tracking systems are used to help manage the progress of software projects. Software practitioners and researchers are recognizing the benefits of mining this information to support the maintenance of software systems, improve software design/reuse, and empirically validate novel ideas and techniques.

In addition to attending the conference, Vadim, Waren and Francesc Campoy, our VP of Product and Developer Relations, conducted a series of interviews with the biggest MSR influencers that we’ll be releasing as a warm up to MSR 2019. Stay tuned as we publish the first episode of the series next week.

We hope to see you all at MSR 2019 on May 26–27, 2019 in Montreal, QC, Canada.
