From Middle School Student to Computer Science Major
We catch up with David, a former student who embarked on his coding journey with us in middle school. Now a junior in college majoring in computer science at Western Michigan University, David shares his unique perspective. He affirms, “Coding is one of the greatest skills you can learn,” emphasizing the pervasive role of technology in our evolving world.
An enFocus Fellow’s Update
Brian, an enFocus fellow, took our Intro to Careers & Coding class to navigate the ever-changing landscape of technology. His advice to future participants is to immerse themselves, ask questions, and understand the intricacies of tech.
I wanted to see what practices have stayed the same, what practices might be new, and just see what’s going on in the tech world.
From Philosophy to HTML
Michelle, a writer at the University of Notre Dame with a background in philosophy and journalism, shares her experience of diving into coding through our course. In her interview, she highlights how the course nurtured her creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
It taught me the skills to not only do what I needed to do but also to think creatively and how to find solutions for problems I have in the future.
Michelle also appreciates the supportive, pressure-free environment the course provided.
