The Absurd Practice of Banning Books

On January 10th, the McKinnon County Board of Education in Tennessee unanimously voted to ban the graphic novel Maus, by Art Spiegelman, from its schools[1].

If you’re unfamiliar with Maus, it’s a story which shows the horrors of the Holocaust and Nazi Germany during WWII in which the Nazis are represented as cats, and the Jewish people facing persecution and death are portrayed as mice.
