The digitalisation of Infrastructures and Logistics

The future is here. Technologies that were unthinkable a few decades ago, now make it possible to travel long distances faster, more safely, and with less consumption. We can manage and centralize all of the transport and services of a large city or region, prevent or resolve traffic congestion before it occurs and control communications remotely. We’ve come a long way but, paradoxically, we’re still far from where we want to go. However, nothing can be achieved without a society with the capacity for change, commitment and transformation. Nothing without innovation.

Ineco aims to combine the growing digital sector together with big data and artificial intelligence in order to create a safe and sustainable transport infrastructure. The belief that digital infrastructure should be designed in a flexible way is what drives Ineco, in partnership with Azvi, Ferrovial Agroman, Cemosa and Ingeniería Insitu, to collaborate on the INFRA_ADAPT project. Which, among other developments, includes: BIM digitalisation solutions for infrastructure, algorithms to detect vulnerable areas and massive capture of geometric data of infrastructure built using mobile mapping techniques.

Spain is a pioneer and an international point of reference in the development of smart cities thanks to its National Smart Cities Plan. This plan is based on three fundamental pillars: standardization, governance and industry.

Ineco works with the Secretary of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda (SESIAD) at the heart of the National Smart Cities’ Plan through the coordination of public and private initiatives of smart cities and their modelling and dissemination at national and international levels, contributing its extensive experience in the field of smart cities through an expert team of consultants in information technologies and smart products.

Ineco is also producing innovative digital services for cities. This is illustrated by our work on CITYNECO. This smart platform enables to connect different sensors around the city gathering enough data to help the users choose the most efficient journey by supplying the information they need. CITYNECO will soon go into operation to help provide truly smart management of traffic in the city of Granada.

Ineco is responding to the digitalisation challenge decisively, through its commitment to ICTs applied to mobility — smart platforms that make it possible to manage integrated data in real time. By combining the smart application with the Internet of Things (IoT) across multiple modes of transport, Ineco makes transport systems across the city safer, more sustainable and reliable.
