Pablo Fernández, Co founder at Clicars: “Identify an unmet need from which customers will be willing to pay more than what it cost you to address that need”

Clicars is one of the startups finalists at South Summit 2017 from B2C track. Pablo Fernández, co founder at the company, explain us what it takes to be an entrepreneur and how his experience has developed during these years.

Why did you decide to start your business and how did you come up with the idea?

Coming from the Automobile and Finance sectors, we saw the lack of an ecommerce platform for used cars in Spain as an opportunity for a more digital and customer-oriented model to serve car buyers and sellers

What does being an entrepreneur mean for you?

“It means jumping from a cliff without parachute and learning how to fly in your way down”. A more formal view would be “identify an unmet need or a customer pain point from which customers will be willing to pay more than what it cost you to address that need/pain”

Why your company is useful for the user?

We address the traditional pain points of the car buying process (lack of trust, transparency and an multiple visits to shady traditional dealerships) by providing an option to buy or sell your car at a fair price from your couch in just hours with just a few clics

Why did you decide to participate at South Summit?

Last year we were a “just-born-startup” with just a few months of existence, so this is the first time we have the opportunity to present a more consolidated and high-growth model and bring a few of our key people to be connect and interact with other startups and players from the ecosystem

What advantages have you found since then?

Having been selected among the Top100 finalist has given us a few mentions in press release and the members of the team that will be going are excited about it.

What do you expect from this event?

To connect with other startups (potential synergies/learnings). Although we do not have a need for funding (after our deal with PSA Group), it would be a great termometer of the industry and an opportunity to expand our professional network. We also expect to let other people know more about Clicars :)

How did you feel when you knew that you were a startup finalist?

It is always exciting to be recognized and even more in this case from one of the most prestigious startup events of the world, but most of all, we felt really proud of our team that make the impossible happens every single day.

What´s your dream in life?

To do what I am passionate about it and work really hard to achieve the best version of oneself every single day
