Alex Limandri — South Park Business

As a Downtown Los Angeles resident and business owner of 13 years, I have listened to our community members aspirations, concerns, hopes, and dreams about our great neighborhood. The needs of the community are best served by transparency. I have helped thousands of people and businesses move into the area with my Real Estate Company, DTLA LIFE. My goal is for everyone that lives, works, or visits Downtown to have a voice and is able to share ideas and take action to improve our quality of life.

This includes the fight to end homelessness. I volunteer with several organizations including United Way, Beyond Shelter, P.A.T.H., and Chrysalis and with your help will continue to advocate for the well being of all DTLA residents. Growing new communities has its challenges; I am confident that we can work together to create a brighter future for the city we love. Working in real estate makes me the ideal candidate to serve as your South Park Business Neighborhood Council board member because the neighborhood’s success is everyone’s success.

Harold McCarthy — South Park Business

My name is Harold “Mac” McCarthy and I am running for reelection for the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (DLANC) for the Southpark Business Director position.

I have served on DLANC for the past year and am the Chair of the Government Liaison Committee. I served on the Board of the Westlake North NC as Secretary and helped to bring the council out of Exhausted Efforts. During this time I forged many relationships in the community and have been CCNP’s Santa Claus for their Annual Children’s Holiday Toy Giveaway. I work for the Department of Water and Power and run HRM Consulting and HRM Foundation with my husband, Robert St.Genis. As a member of the US Air Force Reserves and was called to duty during Desert Storm were I understood the value that Service and Duty brings to enhance our communities and lives. As a member of the LGBT community and one who fought the battle of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”, I too understand the need to stand up for those without a voice.

As a resident and advocate for DTLA for the past dozen years I am proud to serve my community and look forward continuing my serve on the board of DLANC.

Pat Barrett — South Park Resident

As a Downtown LA resident and a business person for 9 years, I have listened to our community members aspirations, concerns, hopes, and dreams about our great neighborhood.

As a Current member of the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (DLANC) as the South Park Resident Director, and a member of the Livability Committee. My goal has been and will continue to be an un-biased voice for the betterment of the community.

I have offered my time and experience by contacting business’s, residences in the community making people aware of DLANC. By listening to their needs, making the necessary suggestions

My main goals are safety first with foot beats, additional parks and dog parks / station, educating business’s on RECYCLA (how to save money through implementing more recycling), and awareness within the community of how I can be your voice.

I shop in the community, and support businesses in Downtown Los Angeles. I am a supporter of the Downtown Women’s Center. I am a Major Account Executive, and through being on the Board of Directors for Women of AT&T, I have helped raise money for Scholarships for High School Seniors going to college.

Please re-elect me for Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council as South Park Resident Director, because I am a voice for the people, and I speak for the community.

John Swartz — Area-Wide

John is running for Area Wide Director to support progressive policies and projects throughout Downtown LA via DLANC’s Planning and Land Use Committee. John’s priorities include organizing community feedback for the update of the Community Plan for Downtown LA (DTLA 2040), supporting complete streets projects, increasing affordable housing, and encouraging development of transit oriented communities. John has served as a member of PLUC for 5 years and has volunteered with DLANC for 10 years, and has been a part of the Downtown LA community for 15 years. John is a Transportation Planner with AECOM where he Lear’s technical studies for Metro and LADOT, including the Downtown LA Streetcar.

Vote for John Swartz for Area Wide Director to Push for progressive and responsible updates to the Downtown LA Community Plan and Zoning code to usher Downtown LA into a more sustainable and socially equitable future!
