Every once in a great while something genius will show up on social media. I’m going to go ahead and call #trashtag, in all its simplicity, genius. Young people love a challenge. Young people have extra energy. Everybody loves a great before and after.

#Trashtag encourages teens — but really all of us…families, schools, friend groups — to find a place that needs cleaning up and, well, clean it up. Then, go ahead and post it on social media. Share away! Try to make a terribly ugly plastic trash-ridden spot so sparkling clean and beautiful that your image will go viral. What a perfect way to get attention.
