What would happen if the sun exploded?

From observing other stars from other solar systems we know the stages of life that our own sun will take. Our own sun is halfway through its life span at 4.5 billion years old. In about 5 billion years our sun will reach its end of life stage. But as the sun gets older it increases in size which means it gets closer to earth. in 1.1 billion years the sun will have expanded by 10 percent. The closer the sun gets to the earth the warmer earth becomes which would make it no longer habitable for humans. In 3.5 billion years the su will be 40 percent brighter, and then it will reach its red giant stage. The suns core will collapse under its own weight. Then it becomes a planetaria nebula. A shell of hot gas is cast off resulting in stellar winds. The core now remains and becomes a dwarf star, and then turns in to a big rock floating in space. If the sun was big enough it could have created a black hole and then destroyed our entire galaxy, but our sun isn’t quite big enough for that. But how will this process effect planet earth?

Us humans will probably die off at some point before all of this takes place so we probably wouldn’t be on earth to experience it. But our planet if still standing, definitely will. When the sun begins to swell in 1.5 billion years the polar caps will melt causing floods in costal areas. Hotter temperatures will cause massive droughts. All of these effects will take a toll on any and all living things left on earth. When the sun approaches the red giant faze our oceans will boil and then evaporate leaving no water and killing all life on earth. Then the sun will become so large it will consume mercury and Venus. we are unsure if it will consume earth but if it does we would spiral right into the sun. If the sun doesn’t consume the planet it is possible that earth could be attracted to a nearby stars orbit. After that there is no telling what could happen.
