WORKHOUSE ONE started in 2013 when Mat and Charlie saw a need for small companies to have affordable and flexible working space. The complications of long leases and capital expenditure meant companies couldn’t get off the ground.
They now have three warehouse spaces in Shoreditch and Liverpool Street. They offer affordable pricing, flexible contracts and an inspiring workspace for start-ups and SMEs across East London.
Where a lot of spaces tend to focus on covering one need, Workhouse has a variety of options available. They have coworking spaces, private offices, meeting rooms and hot desks.
You can find all you need and more in their buildings. They have light, airy workspaces, large desks and comfortable chairs. There’s plenty of break-out areas, to have informal meetings, some time away from your desk, or just hang out. Their kitchen area can compete with the best, with a fridge full of free goodies, including beer and cake, which you can enjoy in the summer sun in their garden.
They are serious about helping new businesses progress. This is a friendly, hard-working space with a great community — many collaborations are born among the resident companies. There’s mentors and investors to help your business grow.
This is inspiring, unbranded space at its best. In Charlie’s words: ‘We make our companies the heroes of our space rather than our brand. We provide businesses with an awesome workspace, lots of social and professional events to network, and mentoring and investing opportunities for them.’
It’s important to Workhouse that businesses can focus on what matters to them. They cater for start-up teams of one-to-four people through to SMEs of up to twenty people, in all business sectors.
They have big plans for 2018, with further investment in place, to open more Workhouses.
